I am saving the best bird until last. Meanwhile here are a few other birds from Tapichalaca.

The most common hummingbird at Tapichalaca feeders, the Chestnut-breasted Coronet, lifts it wings when it lands.

This Sickle-winged Guan lives as a pet near Casa Simpson in the temperate zone, but it’s a native of the lower-elevation subtropical forest.

Wax palms have been depleted, largely so that their leaves could be used for Palm Sunday celebration. Jocotoco Foundation participated in a successful campaign to reduce the destruction of these palms.
